An aromatic dried herb that grows wild throughout Mexico and the southwestern U.S., epazote has a highly piney-balmy odor reminiscent of a tropical rain forest. It is known as one of the most effective neutralizers of stomach gas produced by beans. Epazote leaves are very popular in herbal tea infusions, and can be used in flavoring meats, beans, and peas. It is best to cook the leaves into a dish instead of using them as a garnish.

FAQ
How old are these spices?
We purchase what we need every year right after the spices are harvested. These spices are as fresh as you can get. They are not sitting in a warehouse for multiple years. The oldest spices we carry will be one year old compared to the commodity market which warehouses spices for 10+ years before selling them to you.
What does the tier system mean?
